Flags

The flags provide an immediate visual reference by which you can track your learning of a word. Based on the flags you can also apply a filter to control which types of words are included in your current study list. Refer to the Filters section for further information on setting a filter based on the word flags.

Tiny Classroom uses three flags to indicate learning progress. Tiny Classroom also provides two additional two flags to help you organise words and customize your learning style.

Learning Progress Flags

 Unanswered

The unanswered flag indicates that you have not marked the card as known and/or have not provided a correct written answer. This flag indicates that this is either a word you have not previously viewed or a word that you have not successfully learned. A word will automatically be flagged as unanswered if you mark the card as unknown. Words with this flag will not be included in the progress highlights in the word group and word lists summary views.

 Answered

The answered flag indicates that you have marked the card as known by either pressing the Tick button or by sliding the Flip Card button. It is up to you to decide when you want to mark the card as known. You can find more information about how to use the Flip Card and other buttons in the Learning Modes section. The words with this flag is represented by the gray highlight in the word group and word lists summary views.

 Written

The written flag indicates that you have successully provided written the answer for the word. If the written flag is set then both the unanswered and answered flags are cleared. If the card is marked as written then it can be considered that you have learned the word. The words with this flag is represented by the green highlight in the word group and word lists summary views. Tip: In the settings menu you can configure the number of correct answeres required before the card is marked as written.

Additional Flags

 Difficult

The difficult flag indicates that you find or found this word particularly difficult to learn. By setting the difficult flag on hard words you can easily review these in isolation by setting filtering your working list on this flag. If you provide an incorrect written answer or mark the card as unknown more than a configured number of times then the word will automatically be set as difficult. Tip: In the settings menu you can configure the number of times the work is marked as unknown before it is automatically flagged as difficult.

 Favourite

The favourite flag is reserved as a spare flag to enable you to highlight certain words in whatever way suits your learning style. Much like the difficult flag you can set this flag on certain words to review those words in isolation using the filter feature. Tiny Classroom does not automatically set this flag on any word, it is up to you to decide how and when you want to use this flag.
